Sections of a GoG ePayslip Portal Explained
1. Header Information
The top section of your CAGD EPayslip displays your complete personal and employment details including your Date, Pay Period, Full Name, Staff ID, Grade, Level, and Ghana government Department. Always verify these details are correct every month — any error should be immediately reported through www.gogpayslip.com.
2. Earnings Section
This section shows every payment you received that month including Basic Salary, Housing Allowance, Transport Allowance, Utility Allowance, Responsibility Allowance, Professional Allowance, and Rent Allowance. The total of all these payments is your Gross Salary — always confirm all your entitled allowances are correctly included on your GOGPayslip.
3. Deductions Section
The most important section every Ghana government employee must check carefully. Deductions include Income Tax (PAYE) by GRA, Tier 2 Pension, SSNIT Tier 1, Third-Party Deductions, Union Dues, and Loan Repayments. Any incorrect or unauthorized deduction must be reported immediately through the Wrongful Deductions feature on the GOG EPayslip portal. Our detailed GoG EPayslip Wrongful Deductions guide walks through exactly how to flag one and what happens after you report it.
4. Net Salary
Your Net Salary is your actual take-home amount after all deductions — calculated as Gross Salary minus Total Deductions. Always verify your GOGPayslip net salary matches the exact amount credited to your Ghana bank account.
5. GRA Tax Report
Your GOGPayslip shows your monthly Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) income tax deduction. Access your full My GRA Report on www.gogpayslip.com to view your complete annual tax history for income tax filing in Ghana. See our GoG EPayslip GRA Tax Report guide for help reading and downloading it correctly.
6. SSNIT Contributions
Your monthly Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contribution is clearly shown on your CAGD EPayslip. Verify your full contribution history anytime through the My SSF Report section on the GOG EPayslip portal.
7. Tier 2 Pension
Your GOGPayslip separately shows your monthly Tier 2 occupational pension contribution going to your chosen Ghana pension fund trustee. Track your total retirement savings through the Tier 2 Deductions section.
Common Mistakes Ghana Government Employees Make When Reading Their Payslip
The biggest mistake is glancing only at the net salary figure and skipping everything else — but that single number does not tell you whether your deductions are correct or your allowances are complete.
A few patterns worth watching for:
Not verifying that every allowance you are entitled to actually appears on the payslip. Travel, housing, or responsibility allowances occasionally get missed in payroll updates.
Letting unauthorized or unexpected third-party deductions slide because the amount seems small. These rarely disappear on their own.
Skipping the check on SSNIT and Tier 2 pension contributions — small errors here compound significantly over a working career.
Sitting on a wrongful deduction instead of reporting it through www.gogpayslip.com as soon as it appears, which only makes it harder to resolve later.
Not downloading and saving payslips month to month, which becomes a real problem the one time you actually need three years of records for a loan application.
And the one that should not need saying — never log in using someone else's employee number and password, even to help a colleague. It puts both accounts at risk.

Why the GoG ePayslip Portal Actually Matters
For most government employees, a payslip is not something you think about until you need it — applying for a loan, filing taxes, or proving income for an insurance application. Having it available online, rather than chasing a paper copy from HR, makes those moments considerably less stressful.
A few ways this plays out in practice:
Proof of income — banks, landlords, and insurance providers regularly ask for a recent payslip. Downloading one in under a minute beats waiting days for HR to issue a physical copy.
Tax filing — your full year of payslips gives you everything you need to calculate annual earnings without digging through old paperwork.
Loan applications — banks specifically want to see your deductions alongside your gross salary to judge what you can realistically repay. Your ePayslip has both, clearly laid out.
Budget planning — reviewing a few months side by side makes it much easier to spot patterns in your spending and plan around your actual take-home pay, not just your headline salary.
Beyond the day-to-day usefulness, the portal also keeps your records secure online rather than relying on paper slips that get misplaced, and the move away from printed payslips is a small but genuine step toward less paper waste across the public sector.
